I posted my previously mentioned tentative topics in the discussion board. I knew these were broad topics, which were not narrowed down. I decided to NOT do sport bikes and there was a quick discussion regarding Tiger Woods and that there might not be sufficient scholarly articles regarding his “transgressions”. That leaves the topic of Freemasonry. What do I want to know about it? I was reminded that Freemasonry is not a secret society (which I mentioned in the discussion board in parenthesis) and I know well that it is more in the lines of a society with secrets. There are numerous questions that I can pose towards Freemasonry. One that I would like to be answered is: Why are they blamed for conspiracies? Does this seem narrow enough? How about: Who joins Freemasonry and for what reasons? Or: Why have this society, or fraternity, as it’s recognized as?

We were instructed in class to fill in the chart about our roles in life to help decide on a topic for the research paper. My roles in my personal life: male, Asian-American, sports enthusiast especially basketball and golf, loves sport bikes, and diverse music fan. My roles in my family life: husband, father, son, and older brother. My roles in my public life: Freemasonry and philanthropist. My roles in my school life: part time student progressing to become an RN.

As I look at this chart, there are many possible topics for research. Should I research more about Freemasonry? How about sport bikes? Possibly the affect of Tiger Woods’ absence from the PGA? It definitely ceased my viewing of golf tournaments.

First day of English 102 and it seems like it will be a rough ride to go along with my two biology classes. The class, as expected, did not seem ecstatic to hear the overview of the syllabus. What else is there to expect on the first day of class? I don’t think the dreary syllabus overview was the downer, but the actual content of the itinerary. We found out that we have numerous quizzes. We found out that there are exams. We found out that we have to do this along with the research paper! We, at least I, were not required to do any of this in 101. I’ll try to keep this interesting despite any topic chosen. Now what to write about….?
